The Nurse Licensure Compact lets an RN or LPN with a multistate license from their home state practice in other compact states without extra licenses.
- Whose CE rules apply? Your home (issuing) state's. For example, Louisiana and Florida say multistate holders follow the issuing state's requirements.
- Moving? When you move your primary residence to another compact state you generally must apply there within 60 days (Florida board).
- Non-compact states (e.g. New York, California) require their own license and their own CE.
